Goal: Inspire young people (ages 14–19) to explore technical education routes - including T
Levels, apprenticeships, and HTQs - through the DfE’s Skills for Life campaign, connecting the
message to Marvel’s theme of discovering your inner superpower.
The Department for Education partnered with Disney and Marvel Studios to launch a
co-branded campaign as part of the It All Starts With Skills initiative, designed to help young
people make informed decisions about their post-16 and post-18 pathways.
School of Influence collaborated with @biologywitholivia, one of the UK’s leading science
educators, to create two short-form videos that authentically linked the campaign’s empowering
theme — “Unleash Your Superpower” — to Olivia’s own journey in STEM education.
Each video was designed to inspire students during two key cultural moments:
1. The release of Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps
2. Exam results season — a time when young people reflect on their next steps.
Olivia’s content struck the perfect balance between relatability and aspiration — showing that
education, like science, is about discovering what makes you extraordinary.

Video 1 (Film Launch Moment):
Olivia shared an energising reflection on how her own passion for biology became her
“superpower,” linking the campaign’s message to real classroom experience.
Video 2 (Exam Results Day Moment):
Olivia took a more reflective approach - encouraging students to see results day not as a
defining moment, but as a starting point. The video reinforced the message that there’s no
single route to success, only the journey of developing your unique skills.

inspiration and authenticity, demonstrating strong alignment between educational messaging
